Once a company has made its dividend announcement, an ex-dividend date is assigned by the exchange on which its stock is traded. This date is normally two business days ahead of the record date, and stocks which are declared ex-dividend (without dividend) are noted with the symbol “x” or “-x” on stock tables.

There are few more dates to understand. The declaration date as the name signifies declares the dividend is authorized by the board of directors and announced in a press release, generally over the business wire. The record date is the date when the investors are required to be included in the list of shareholders to qualify for the dividend. Remember that the brokerage firms take three days to settle the trade. Dividend payment date is the date when the investors are actually paid the amount of dividend.

The company is valued at $9.82 billion.

Wayside Technology Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:WSTG) currently holds a yearly dividend yield of 5.12%. The stock has traded between $11.51 – $17.50 in the past 52 weeks and has a market capitalization of $59.52 million. WSTG an information technology channel company, resells software and hardware.

CDI Corp. (NYSE:CDI) together with its subsidiaries, engages in the provision of various engineering and technology solutions, and professional staffing services in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia Pacific. CDI Corp has a dividend yield of 3.03%. The stock in the past 52 weeks has been floating in the range of $11.05 – $18.61. The company’s market capitalization stands at $332.25 million.

Stellarone Corp (NASDAQ:STEL) has an annual dividend yield of 2.33%. The stock has traded between $10.24 and $13.92 in the last 12-months. Its market capitalization is now at $313.94 million. STEL operates as the bank holding company for StellarOne Bank that provides a range of commercial banking, mortgage banking, and wealth management services to individuals, and small and middle-market businesses in Virginia.

CCA Industries, Inc. (NYSE:CAW) engages in manufacturing and selling health and beauty aid products primarily in the United States and Canada. CCA Industries, Inc’s annual dividend yield is positive at 6.44%. The stock in the previous 52 weeks has been hovering in range of $3.61 – $5.35. The company is worth $30.69 million.

Kennametal Inc. (NYSE:KMT) has a dividend yield of 1.81%. The stock in the past 52 weeks has been floating in the range of $30.65 – $47.82. The company’s market capitalization stands at 2.82 billion. KMT manufactures and supplies tooling, engineered components, and advanced materials consumed in production processes worldwide.
