QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) hires senior director of corporate development

QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) appointed Nathan Fletcher as the senior director of corporate development. Nathan Fletcher reported to the media that he mentioned his job change on his Facebook page.

According to sources, it was reported that his main role will be to assist the company in improving its worldwide strategies in various areas. Wireless health initiatives along with mobile education were the key areas defined by the company.

Nathan Fletcher will further help the company in wide spread initiatives including employee volunteerism. Qualcomm’s chairman and chief executive said that they are happy to have such a talented person, who will accelerate the company’s growth in the upcoming years.

Nathan Fletcher was a Republican when he announced his intent to run for the San Diego mayor’s job, but after he lost the endorsement of the party, he became an independent.

At the close of the trading day, QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) shares rose +1.06% to settle at $61.93. Intraday trading was between $60.75 – $62.03. In the past year, the stock has traded within a range of $51.60 – $68.87. The last session’s volume of 15.58 million shares was up from the average daily trading volume of 12.47 million shares.

Broadcom Corporation (NASDAQ:BRCM) shares were up +0.59% to close at $30.47. The stock traded between $29.95 – $30.75 during the last trading session. In the last 12 months the shares have traded between $27.59 and $39.66. The last session’s volume of 8.87 million shares was a bit higher than their average daily trading volume of 7.21 million shares.
