Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) is Going to Deliver Live and On-Demand Programming to FiOS TV Subscribers
Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) has been looking busy in signing various deals with Comcast’s (NASDAQ: CMCSA) NBCUniversal subsidiary. This move will allow the company to deliver live and on-demand programming from NBC, CNBC and other networks to FiOS TV subscribers. This service will be provided both in and out of the home.
TV Everywhere apps will enable FIOS subscribers to access NBCU content. NBCU last month signed a similar deal with Verizon FiOS’ rival, Cablevision (NYSE: CVC). This agreement includes retransmission-consent for NBC owned-and-operated stations and multiplatform distribution rights to USA, Bravo Media, cloo, Chiller, NBC Sports Network, Oxygen Media, Style Media, Syfy, Telemundo Media and Golf Channel.
The Company started live TV programming from almost 75 networks last week. Verizon subscribers still have various issues while watching programs from local NBC stations and other broadcast affiliates on their FIOS Mobile apps.
