U.S. Bancorp (NYSE:USB) was ranked on top in the KBW Bank Index as produced the best risk-adjusted return in the past two years among all 24 banks while investment banks including Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) and JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM), which in May announced a $2 billion trading loss, were ranked near the bottom.

Bloomberg riskless return ranking showed that U.S. Bancorp had a total return of 34 percent in the two years through May, with a volatility that was below that of 71 percent of stocks in the index, for a risk-adjusted increase of 1.1 percent. The ranking showed that JPMorgan fell 13 percent ahead of adjusting for its above-average volatility, the ninth-worst performance while Citigroup had the worst total return and the third-highest volatility.

According to the latest closing data, Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) shares rose +3.75% to settle at price $25.75. Intraday trading appeared in a range of $24.74 – $25.88 while in period of a year the stock has floated within a range of $21.40 – $43.06. The last session’s volume of 36.08 million shares competed with an average daily trading volume of 40.50 million shares.

Let’s have look at its direct competitor, Bank of America Corp (NYSE:BAC) shares were up +2.90% to close at $7.10.
