Jury selection is planned to begin on Monday in the insider trading trial of former The Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE:PG) and Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (NYSE:GS) board member, Rajat Gupta, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
Prosecutors will work to convince the jury a July 29, 2008 phone call demonstrates Gupta was giving inside tips to Raj Rajaratnam, providing him an illegal rim in massive stock moves. Defense lawyers stated that Gupta only shared public information with the billionaire hedge fund boss.
