Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) Attempting to Excel in OS Market through Windows RT

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has recently introduced Surface tablet with Windows RT. This strategic decision is believed to be long term in nature because; it will induce software developers towards developing software and applications for the newly enrolled MSFT’s soft product.

Additionally, the company is attempting to level the playing field with its leading competitors that include Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG). On the other hand, the company will also provide assistance services to its customers free of cost for the period of four proceeding years to product purchase.

Furthermore, MSFT is planning to expand their warranty acclamation period in order to further enhance their profitable customer relations, which it maintained for considerable number of period.

On strategic grounds, the company is attempting to replicate its past success with Windows RT. But, can MSFT achieve its goal of market dominance in OS market via Windows RT? This question is yet to be answered.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) kept volume of 47.03 million shares which was lesser than its average volume of 60.06 million shares. The stock after opening at $26.56 touched high price of $26.97 and settled at $26.94 after gaining 1.83%.

In the liquidity ratios, the company booked 2.68 as current ratio while its debt to equity ratio was 0.17 and long-term debt to equity ratio also remained at 0.14. The Company had overall cash of $66.07 billion at hand and a book value per share as $8.17 in the most recent quarter.

Measuring Microsoft Corporation’s competitiveness with another firm across its sector, MSFT stock is lagging behind from its 200 day moving average with -9.27% while the stock is moving down from SMA50 with -4.44% and traded at lowest level during the previous trading session at $26.52.

Shares of the company hit the 52 weeks low range with $25.29 per share while its 52 weeks high level was $32.95, which compares with last trade ending price of $26.94.

Its competitors Oracle Corporation (NASDAQ:ORCL) shares were up from 200 day moving average of 7.68% and traded as low as $31.92 per share in the last session and Adobe Systems Incorporated (NASDAQ:ADBE) shares were up from 200 day moving average of 9.45% and traded as low as $35.40 per share in the last session.
