Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) Announces A Similar Plan To Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) will send a notification to users who have DNSChanger malware on their computers, notifying them of the infection letting them know that they will lose Internet access on 9th of next month.

The company’s security team said on the Facebook Security blog on June 4, that when a user tries logging in to their Facebook account from a DNSChanger-infected computer, the social networking site will put an on view an alert with a link to the DNSChanger Working Group’s website. The DCWG website includes information related to the malware and instructions on how to clean up the infection.

The team wrote that collaborating with the DCWG, Facebook is now able to alert users possibly infected with DNSChanger malware and help them clean up their computer or networks. Earlier last month Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) unveiled a similar plan of their own with CloudFlare, enabling the search giant to display alerts to victims through its search pages.

Facebook Inc’s (NASDAQ:FB) latest financial highlights included 26.95% for a profit margin in last twelve months and operating margin at 47.32%.

Comparing its profitability with industry, Renren Inc (NYSE:RENN) showed that it maintained a 22.35% profit margin in the last twelve months and an operating margin at -35.64%. Return on equity is an ideal tool to compare management effectiveness.  Renren has maintained at 5.99% in last twelve months. Another significant tool, the return of assets, was measured at 3.38%.

Adding Groupon Inc (NASDAQ:GRPN) to the discussion, they recorded profit margin of -10.00% for the prior 12 months and operating margin at -4.09%. Return on equity, for this stock was recorded at -52.68% while return on assets appeared at -15.54%.
